School Safety
Buena Vista’s school safety plan is updated and reviewed annually. The school meets all federal and state standards for facilities and safety. Teachers, instructional aides and supervisors oversee children on the playground. We have high expectations for student behavior and enforce them. Emergency drills are scheduled monthly, and the school works closely with the Salinas Rural Fire Protection District and Monterey County Sheriff’s department to monitor the school safety plan. Key elements of the plan include the monthly safety drills and crisis-intervention plans.
