Dear Neighbor:
Thank you to the many neighbors who participated in our recent Educational Priorities Community Survey. We’d like to expand the community conversation about our educational needs to include your input!
Our schools are old and urgently need basic repairs. We must upgrade our classrooms to keep children and teachers safe at school by improving emergency communications systems, adding automatic door locks and security cameras, and upgrading earthquake and fire safety systems.
So far, your neighbors have identified the following priorities for our Spreckels schools:
- Continuing to attract and retain quality teachers
- Repairing leaky roofs
- Providing safe drinking water
- Providing a curriculum that includes arts and music
- Upgrading smoke and fire alarm systems
- Removing asbestos, lead paint and mold
As we continue working to make our schools safer, we'd love to hear from YOU! Please join the conversation and share your priorities for our schools before July 28th by completing the online Spreckels Safer Classrooms Survey at https://bit.ly/SaferSpreckels
We look forward to keeping you updated as we develop a fiscally responsible plan to address the needs of our schools and community.
