NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Statewide General Election shall be held on Tuesday, the 6th day of November 2018.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN TO ALL QUALIFIED PERSONS that elections will be held in the following
offices within the County of Monterey, State of California, for the purpose of electing members as follows:

Spreckels Union School District, Governing Board Member, Three 4-year term


  • Unless otherwise specifically provided, no person is eligible to be elected or appointed to an elective
    office unless that person is a registered voter and otherwise qualified to vote for that office at the time
    that nomination papers are issued to the person or at the time of the person’s appointment. ELECTIONS
    CODE 201.
  • A person is disqualified from holding any office upon conviction of designated crimes as specified in the
    Constitution and laws of the state. GOVERNMENT CODE 1021.
  • Not have been convicted of a felony involving accepting or giving, or offering to give, any bribe, the
    embezzlement of public money, extortion or theft of public money, perjury, or conspiracy to commit any
    of those crimes. ELECTIONS CODE 20.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that declarations of candidacy and other required nomination documents for
eligible candidates desiring to run for any of the elective offices may be obtained and filed at the office of the
Registrar of Voters located at 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, Salinas, CA, on or after Monday, July
16, 2018 and must be filed at the same location not later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, August 10, 2018 for the
Tuesday, November 6, 2018 election. If an eligible incumbent does not file a declaration of candidacy by
5:00 P.M. on Friday, August 10, 2018, any eligible person other than the incumbent shall have until 5:00
P.M. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 to file a declaration of candidacy for the elective office. Interested
